I am started working on another of my 2015 goals today.
My goal was:
Get rid of one bag of stuff a month.
By stuff we didn't mean garbage but stuff that we don't use anymore. So we headed down to the basement because that has become a catchall for stuff that "can be fixed later," is too small, not being played with, etc. I didn't get a good pic of before we started but let me tell you it was bad.
We made all the kids help. So we started with the big pile of shoes and went on from there.
It is not a small basement with over 2000 sq ft on the main floor you can guess that the basement is just as big.
G worked on crushing the bags of pop cans and K cut boxes from Christmas stuff that got tossed down there. Z just walked around and caused trouble lol.
We collected a bunch of stuff that we no longer want or use to bring to donation on Monday. As an added bonus we can now semi walk around down there.
We moved a bunch of baby stuff to storage because we can sell that to a used baby gear store. I would say garage sale but we all know that we can say that all we want but we won't actually ever have one.
So hopefully we can keep up this cleaning and organizing stuff and not end up on an episode of Hoarders lol.
I have made it 24 days without a cigarette now and the one month line is in sight.
I love this idea...although I need to aim for at least 2 bags lol
ReplyDeleteI do too but I would get overwhelmed so 1 bag at a time is enough for me.
DeleteGood for you! both for the cleaning and being smoke free!
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteThis post just reminded me that I need to clean out my closet and put together all our old clothes to give away. It's been long overdue (years really). And congrats on being smoke free for almost a month!
ReplyDeleteOurs has been due for a few years too and thanks

DeleteI'm not the only who feels like a hoarder then lol! Good luck with the organizing and de-cluttering, that's a great goal and your basements seems huge. We began getting rid of stuff we no longer use, too. A lot of of our stuff was piling up in this nook we have that hides behind our entertainment set in our living room. Congrats on the smoke-free month! #ibabloggers
ReplyDeleteOh I have been decluttering one room at a time. Kitchen is almost done. It feels so good right? Great job with tackling your basement!
ReplyDeleteWe hope to start back up on finishing the basement but we have to get it cleaned first lol
