I almost pissed myself at work today

I was sent to Turtle Lake, Wisconsin to fix a box at a liquor store today.  It was the usual 2 door slant outdoor box.  It was unplugged when I got there so I lifted the cover to give her a once over before I plugged her it and found this...

Can you see that big ass frog next to the compressor in the pic.  I swear he was 3 inches or so and 5 inches from where I had to work on the compressor.  When I saw him I almost pissed myself and fell off of my stool.

I am so glad that my truck has an air compressor on it.  I used 150 psi to blow him back behind the box so he wouldn't touch me.  I know it is girly but I can't stand anything slimy.  I say no to snakes, frogs, ok no amphibians of any kind.

I usually find dead mice but a frog is a first for me.  The day I find a snake or live mouse I will quit because that is just gross.

When I was done working on it I was checking the cooling inside the box and found...

Yup thats right a different FUCKING frog inside the box.  On the upside this one is inside and it was running so I am sure he froze in 30 minutes or so.

Vacation

I finally got a chance to talk to my HR person today.  With 3 more months left of the year I have 1.2 days of Vacation, 4 sick days, and 4 holidays.  Ok 2 of those holidays are Thanksgiving and Christmas but that doesn't mean I don't have them.  The way I figure it if I only take days off that I have no daycare I should end the year with 3 sick days to roll over to next year.  I seriously could use a day off but I used most of my vacation at the beginning of the year when Z was born.  This just means that if I can make it to the end of the year I will be golden for the start of next year.

Other than that I got nothin.  I get to road trip it to Turtle Lake tomorrow to fix a box at some liquor store.  I just might stop by Franconia Sculpture Garden again by myself so I can actually look at things without chasing Z around.

So I leave you with a song.

Christmas Already???

We went for a day trip yesterday so today was the weekly shopping trip.

First up was Target because last week ours had Gerber Graduate juice on clearance and Z likes those so we went to Hastings to check that Target.  They had 5 of the kiwi strawberry juices left for the low price of 98 cents so he bought them all.

We also checked out their halloween stuff because it is my favorite holiday and I am so not sure what I want to dress Z up as yet.  I was not expecting to see Christmas stuff out yet that is for sure.

I do love the halloween banner over it lol.

Z was not sure about the giant spiders but played along anyway.

Then Applebee's for lunch.  It was after 2 so we scored half price apps.

Z got the broccoli cheese soup and our fantastic waitress even asked the cook to not make it as hot as they normally would so she could eat it right away.  When we got the soup it was just the right temp so she could start eating it instead of having to wait for it to cool down.

She also ate some of our mott sticks and fries.

Then it was time to head back home and do chores until the boys came home.  Their dad switched cars and forgot G's seat so when he dropped them off he returned mine.  Z of course tried it out.

K spent most of the weekend reading his 2 new books that he plans to do reviews on so keep an eye out for those.  One is 30 scary stories and the other is about a spy.  He was so thrilled about all the views and comments last time so when he posts again please let him know what you think.

What is your favorite kid friendly place to eat?

Franconia Sculpture Park

The boys are spending the weekend with their Dad this weekend so we took Z to the sculpture park.  We went to Franconia Sculpture Park just outside of Taylors Falls, MN.  The place is free but does like to get donations to keep making new sculptures.  Z had a blast climbing on the sculptures.

She thought the donation pig was cool too.

They have an awesome playground.  Ok 3 playgrounds I only have a pic of the one.

A sweet dog house.

Even a deer pyramid lol.

The deer pyramid has a sign saying please no climbing on it or I would have taken Z's picture with it.

The park is open from dawn until dusk 365 days a year.  It is free and changes several times a year so check it out if you are ever in the area.

Dad Lets Her Eat Everything

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So I breastfeed Z so Dad gets to feed her solids every day and sometimes he gets a little carried away.  The food list for this evening is:

*   Breast Milk
*   1/2 Greber 2 applesauce and turkey
*   1/2 Gerber peas
*   3/4 Gerber 2 tub of homemade applesauce
*   1/2 cup or so spagetti
*   1/2 cup or so Del Monte fruit cocktail
*   1 marshmallow
*   1/2 chocolate chip cookie
*   6 oz kiwi strawberry juice

She threw half of the spaghetti on the floor but the rest she ate.  I figure him feeding her like this has something to due with her actually starting to sleep through the night this last week.

I got K's Christmas socks done while I was at work today.  The pattern is called show off stranded socks by Anne Campbell.  I cast on 64 stitches and did a 1x1 rib for 12 rows then started the pattern.  I used Zauberball yarn in colorway 2170.

Too much pink for my liking but he picked the yarn out almost 2 years ago now at Yarn Soup in Dubuque, Iowa When we went to the water park there to celebrate his 13th birthday.  I just hope that he will wear them even if he doesn't like the color anymore.

I leave you today with a pic of Z posing while emptying my plastic ware cabinet.

Car Phone Mount Review

I recently had the opportunity to test and review a cell phone holder from iGotTech.  I have to admit I am very impressed.  It is available from amazon here for $17.98 plus shipping.

I use my phone at work for a GPS because I am too broke to buy one.  I used to use my work trucks cup holder to hold my phone.

Not the greatest of setups due to the phone shifting every time you take a turn or hit a bump.  Also the sun would hit it and you couldn't see the screen sometimes.  Now I don't have to do this anymore thanks to iGotTech.  The product name actually says...

Cell Phone Holder - Mobile Phone Car Mount - Sticky Suction Stand - #1 Best Mount by iGotTech - Smartphone Stand Holds iPhone 5 GPS Samsung Galaxy S3 iPad and More - Best Auto iPhone Holder on Market - Most Wished Cell Phone Accessories

I have a LG something or another and have yet to have an issue with this.

It holds my phone so I can concentrate on the road and the people who seem to think that my truck stops on a dime.  Some reviews of this on Amazon say that their phone falls off but I have yet to have a problem like that even on bumpy roads with a loaded truck.

Your phone sticks to this pad on the mount so when you want or need your phone you don't have to remove clips or anything you just grab it and it comes right off the pad.  I haven't even had any residue left on my phone either.

So if you are in the market for a mount for your phone in your car I suggest the iGotTech phone mount.

Z's 9 Month Dr. Appt

Z had her 9 month doctor appointment.  She is now 26 inches long (3%)and weighs 16 pounds 7 ounces (19%).  Her weight to height puts her in the 59%.  So she is small for her age I am 5' 1" so she must take after me lol.  She is doing well and normally wouldn't get shots at the 9 month appointment but we are coming into flu season so I opted to get her the flu shot (sorry Z).

She was thrilled that the doctor gave her 2 new books to keep.

The first one is called Baby A*B*C by Deborah Donenfeld.  It is black and white but the letter and the item in the picture that corresponds to the letter.  For instance B the boots that the baby is wearing in the pic are yellow but the baby is black and white.

The other one is a soft book called Squishy Turtle by Priddy Books.  This just has a picture of an aquatic animal and its name next to it.  For example crab with a cartoon crab pictured.  This one seems great to chew on lol.

All 3 of my kids enjoy reading K especially.

Do you have any books to recommend for babies, 2nd graders or 8th graders?

Baby Shade Review

G, Z, and I just got to test and review some baby shades by CG Babies.  They are available from Amazon here for the low price of $18.95.  I suggest buying them.  We already had sun shades and had only used them once before I got mad and pulled them down.  Sure they looked cool they were Lighting McQueen.

The problem was that you can barley see through them.  Also, if you forgot that they were on and you tried to roll down your window they would rip.

We love the new ones.  They are way easier to see through.  They pop off if you forget about them and try rolling down the window.  They even stick together and twist into a small package which fits in the glove box when you don't want them on.

You can even see through these good in the rain. Like I said at the beginning of this post I suggest buying them you wont regret it.

Homemade Subs for Dinner

We made homemade subs for dinner this evening and Z seems to enjoyed hers more than the others.  She started out strong but faded from there.

See she enjoyed it to start with but then her lack of afternoon nap caught up to her.

As you can hear the boys thought that it was hilarious.  I have never had a kid actually fall asleep in their high chair during dinner before.

What did your kids fall asleep doing?

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today G was looking for something to do because he was "bored".  We looked around and saw a bunch of chocolate chips with the baking supplies so I thought why not make some cookies.

We used the standard Toll House recipe.

G used white and christmas chips in his and I used minis in mine.  We made 2 batches to see who was the better cook.

He is very proud of his and wanted lots of pics of it taken lol.

I did not pose with mine.

Side by side view of them ready to be baked.  He did need some help putting them on the cookie sheet but other than that it was all him.

Here they are fresh from the oven.

And all cooled and tasted.  He liked mine better because they tasted like chocolate.  I liked his better because I think that mine are too chocolaty.  I guess we both won lol.

What is your favorite kind of cookie to make with kids?

Its Friday!!!

I am so glad that its finally Friday.  This work week sucked.  Everyone was sick I even came home early on Wednesday because I couldn't stop coughing.  I got stuck doing 3 compressors this week and have at least 2 to do next week.  D has been on call all week as the primary guy so we can't even go out and do anything because he might get called into work.  Not that we have money to go out and do things anyway.  I am just glad to have the weekend at home with the kids.

I just hope we all recover this weekend and start out next week feeling better and ready to take on the world.

While we are recovering we get to watch Captain America Winter Soldier and Heaven is for Real that we rented from Redbox.

We also get to test out some new products that came from Amazon this weekend so that should be fun.

Oh and football for G tomorrow too so it wont just be sitting around being bums lol.

I think I pissed off someone at work

I came into work today, grabbed my truck keys and went outside to this crap.

I am the one who folded in my mirror trying to figure out how to get my truck out without having to get the keys for the other truck.  I mean who does this crap.  It has been a long week and then I get this.  I was parked first in the lines and someone had to do this.  I had to crawl in from the passenger side of my truck.  Seriously who does that...

The other day D made a comment that it would be so awesome if they made Mike n Ikes in all reds.  You know the good flavors so you don't have to throw away half the box ie. the green and yellow ones.  So when I was getting gas at SA today there they were the box of all reds.

I bought him 2 boxes lol.

In honor of TBT I give you some of K's baby pics
