Spring Again

It reached 60 degrees in the great state of MN today.

So we just had to go out and play today.

We checked the fence for weak spots again.

Gate 1

Gate 2

and Gate 3 were all latched.

So we went for a walk by the river.

And played with the now completed sock monkey.

He was started 3/2/09 and finished 3/28/15 so that means that it only took me 6 years and 26 days to make him lol.

The Book of Adam

Hi its me K here with my next book review.  It is spring break so I am catching up on all of my reviews.  I have 2 more due next week so I won't be gone long lol.

This book is called The Book of Adam - Town Secrets by Scott Gelowitz.  You can get this book on Amazon for $2.99 here.  I do give this book 4/5 stars so you might like it too.

One of my likes was how the author described the origins of the centennial league otherwise I would have been very confused at some key points during the story.

One of my dislikes was that the author didn't explain who took the Heartstone.  Nor did he explain when or why it was taken and that just kinda sucks.

Another thing that I want to know is Elianora knew so much about what was happening in the town but she knew nothing about what happened to the Heartstone.  Also, how did she know about all of the stuff going on?  Was she psychic or something?

How is the small town of Grayson linked to historical events like the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius and the story of Adam and Eve?

Who built a system of tunnels underneath Grayson - and for what purpose?

Why are nearby towns being destroyed, leaving no trace of their residents?

Thirteen-year-old Adam McTaggart and his friends uncover these secrets and more as they race to save their tiny town.

Will they find the Town Secret before someone much more dangerous does?

All of these questions and more are answered in the book so check it out.

See you soon,
K

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Striiv

This last weekend Woot had a special for a Striiv Pedometer for $25 so I bought 3 of them one for myself, K, and G.

They came today so we set them up and tried them out.

G was doing well with his as in at over 5000 steps but then it wouldn't let him access any of the other screens so we tried to do a reset.

Now I have one very disappointed boy because it wont turn back on.  I e-mailed them and it can take up to 3 days for a reply.  I am going to try and call them tomorrow and see if they can do anything.  It just kinda sucks that he had it for only 2 hours and it is already broken.

Speaking of broken...

This is what the inside of my recovery machine looks like.  I broke it last week and the boss tore it apart to see if he can fix it.  So he is letting me use his personal one which I broke already at the same store I broke mine at.

Dude this is supposed to be a 110 outlet I think something is wrong.

Minneopa State Park

We took another road trip today.

This time we went south to Minneopa State Park to check out the water fall.

They had more snow there than we expected.

Someone built snowmen lol.

Not much of a water fall yet.

It was fun to pose in front of anyway.

The snow tasted fresh.

After that we went to River Bend Nature Center to check out that water fall.

We had never been to this one before.

If it had water it might look cool but right now my kitchen faucet produces more water.

The scenery was beautiful and had some huge trees to run around.

It was another very fun day exploring and checking out the scenery.  We do plan to go back later this spring with all 3 kids.

Road Trip

Do you ever have one of those days where you just need to get the heck out of town.  We had one of those all week so we took off to Eau Claire today.

We had some Fazolis for lunch because they no longer have any locations in the Twin Cities and it was something different.

It was Z's first trip there and she did have fun playing with the order sign.

She tried a little of everything,

and as you can see she did seem to like it.

After that we came home and made some cookies.  I made Heath chip ones and D made peanut butter M&M.

Mine taste better lol.  Ok the happen to be the same recipe but I added Heath chips and D added M&Ms.

Normal?

Do you ever wonder if your kids are weird because of you or their father?

This is a book that Z got from her doctor on Monday.  It was a new book when she got it 5 short days ago.

Now it looks like a beaver got it lol.

Or here she is looking out the window.  If you look close she is actually a window licker.

I ask this because I am normal so my kids are right?

See normal...ok so here is G watching our movie today.

Maybe they get it from both sides and are doomed for life lol.  Being normal is for boring people anyway.

Pink Eye again

D and I stayed home sick today because we seem to have pink eye.

So yup I quit smoking and I have been sick way more than I ever was in my 20 years of smoking.  I will still rather be sick than go back to that nasty habit.  I am on my 85th day without one.

So we tried Five Guys for lunch because we wanted to try something different and neither one of us had been before.  We both thought that they were good and plan to go again sometime in the future.

I know you are going to call me crazy but when we were at Target getting our meds this afternoon we were offered a free sample of a Birthday Cake Frappuccino by the Starbucks there so I said sure why not.  Now here is the crazy part I have never had Starbucks nor had I ever had a frappuccino before.  I thought that this one tasted ok as in I would consider getting on again someday.

Here is Z during dinner with her potato face shouting "tada" and throwing food everywhere.

Snow

Yesterday was hopefully the last snowfall of the season.

So today after school G built his last snowman of the season.

Yes he has a snowman for a nose lol.

After he had his fun we had to run to Target to get meds and because we were in D's Suburban the kids got to ride in different seats.  Z got to be front facing and G got to go seatless.  In my car I feel like G is a little short so I still have him in the booster seat and because it is safer and I am a little lazy Z is still rear facing.

I also got a cool new thing to test out and show off my geek side lol.

WSP Fire

I got to fix an ice box at the fire station today.  It was an easy fix but this creepy guy kept staring at me.

Then when I went to get something out of my truck everyone disappeared.

Like they left their shoes and disappeared.

So I wandered around and took pics lol.
