For the first time ever K made dinner. Ok he has made microwave things and spaghetti before but never something from an actual recipe. So because he is now 14 (15 in April) I figured it was about time that he learned.
We found a simple oven recipe. For a first time he didn't want a ton of ingredients or other work.
I had to show him how to figure out how to get 20oz of hash browns from a 30oz bag using our handy dandy kitchen scale we got to test here. This thing is so handy to have.
We altered the recipe a little by adding more shredded cheese on top.
It looks ok.
It tastes good
Other than being a little nervous cutting the sausage and putting it in the hot oven he did very well for a first timer. K even had seconds and complemented the cook lol.
I think that I am going to have to find another simple meal that he can make himself.
If you know of a simple recipe that a 14 tear old can try making on his own please let me know. We do have a crock pot and he is out of school on Thursday and Friday to try something that way too.
