Wordless Wednesday

I am sick.  Z is sick.  K is sick.  D is sick and on call this week.  G feels fine.  I bailed out of work at 10:30 and came home and slept it is that bad.  I know I am supposed to do 2 compressors tomorrow but with the body aches I just want to call in so I can put them off for another day.  This is our lazy day.

Z and G played with monster Trucks

Yup toaster waffles for dinner because mom doesn't feel like cooking

All the toys I buy and you play with that...

Why is it that you buy your kids all these toys and all they want to play with is garbage?  Z's favorite toys right now are a ice cream bucket, a free cup from a restaurant, and the box her carseat came in.

Even G plays with the bucket.

As of today Z is 9 months old.  She has 2 teeth and as of 2 days ago can stand without help.  She can get from sitting to standing in the middle of the floor too.  She has yet to take any steps but I know she can and probably will soon.

Oh keys yea better add those to the list of things that you didn't buy intending on them to be toys.

Add sunglasses to the list too.

What kinds of "non toys" do or did your kids play with?

K's book review

My name is K, Cindy's oldest son.  I just had been given a chance to review a new e-book called Dragon: Ten Tales of Fiery Beasts.  You can buy this book at amazon for your Kindle here.

This book was a great read.  I couldn't put it down!  I got it on Thursday and I finished it before I went to my Dads on Saturday morning.

The book is an anthology of 10 different authors.  Because it is many different stories it takes place during different times.  Also, it takes the view of the dragon in some stories and the view of the humans in others.  It even has good and bad dragons in it.

Some of my favorite stories are:
      *  Alone with the Bones - This story involves the main character bringing the dragon back to life.
      *  The Murder Window - This story has a curse in it that was interesting
      *  Dragons - This one has dragons ruling the world and human slaves

My only dislike was that every story has humans in it.  I think that it would be interesting if one or more stories had a peopleless world.  The story that comes the closest to this would be The Introvert Dragon but even this story had the main character (who is a dragon) eating people.

All of the stories had characters facing a conflict of some form or another and trying to overcome these conflicts.

In conclusion I enjoyed reading this book and plan to read it again in the near future.

Thank you for reading,

K

Stroller Organizer Review

I recently had the opportunity to review the Children 'n Us Stroller Organizer.  You can check out their website here.  This organizer comes in very non descript packaging for how awesome and convenient it is.  It looks like another small and useless product based on the size of the box.

Boy was I shocked at how big it actually was when I got the box opened.

This thing holds everything I needed and so much more.

It is not even full and look at all the stuff I managed to cram in this.

The list includes a 20 oz Coke, bib, spoon, Gerber 2nd food tub, bottle, blanket, hat, 3 toys, 2 pacifiers, and even my phone and keys.  (not shown but also included 3 size 2 diapers and small pack of wipes)

It fit on everything I could think of.

D's bike

Z's bike trailer

Z's stroller

According to the website you can also attach this to the seat in your car (I Haven't tried that yet)

I recieved this as a free trial but I am definitely going to recommend this organizer to all of my friends and not just those with small children either.  This will work great later in the car to hold 3DSs and all the stuff that goes with them.

Biggest Clearance Score Ever!!!

Today G had his football game against the Maroon team again.  I didn't get pics because it was only 45 degrees and Z fell asleep on the drive to the field so Z, K, and I hung out in the car while G played.

I worked on my knitting

K read his book on his tablet

Z slept
After football the boys left to go to their Dads for the weekend so D, Z, and I did out earronds.  First up was Walmart for Z food and lunchbox snacks.

Z figured out she could stand in the cart and threw a fit when we tried taking her out of it so we just let her do it.  I know it is very unsafe but it was easier than dealing with a screaming baby.

Next was Target to get a bottle brush.

Typical Target style you go in for one thing and leave with a cart full of stuff.  They had some baby food and juice on clearance so we had to buy them because we will need them adventually.  Also, when we were walking by the school stuff we overheard a girl telling her friend that the composition notebooks were on clearance for 5 cents.  We thought heck with 3 kids 2 of which are in school we always need notebooks.  We ended up with 86 of them.  Yup you heard that right 86 composition notebooks for $4.30.  Biggest clearance score ever!!!  Now what do I do with so many notebooks?

ECFE Baby shower

Z and I went to the ECFE babyshower today.  It was fun.  They talked about car seat safety, classes that they offer, sang songs, and  the public health nurse did weight checks.  Z met a lot of new friends and found tons of new toys to play with.  I learned that Z (who will be 9 months on the 16th) now weighs 16# 1 oz.  She is getting so big <3

Z with her new friend Olivia

New toys to play with mom

She even found Curious George

We tried a new recipe for dinner.  I found it on Pinterest here.  It is called Easy Crockpot Potato Soup.  Z and I started it at 11 ish this morning before we went to the baby shower.  It turned out ok.  I think Z liked it the best of all of us and K says to add it to the regular dinner rotation.  G hated it because he doesn't like potatoes.  D and I agree that it would be a great side dish but not as the main part of the meal.  Basically it tasted like loaded mashed potatoes but a little runnier.  Not exactly what we were looking for.

Quiet

Wow for once we are actually enjoying a quiet evening at home.  As in all 3 kids are being quiet and not getting into too much trouble nor are they picking on each other.  Which is awesome because I had a long hard day at work doing 2 compressors so I am beat.

K is using his tablet to read a book and do a review on it for an author.  It is called Dragon: Ten Tails of Fiery Beasts and available at Amazon.

G is hiding in his room using his Rainbow Loom to make bracelets.  He is not allowed to use the Rainbow Loom out of his room because Z might choke on a lost rubber band.

Z is the troublemaker of the evening.  She has emptied all of the DVDs from the shelf and has now started to empty the books from the other shelf.

I have the day off tomorrow due to daycare being closed so Z and I are going to the ECFE baby shower while the boys are at school.  It is going to be a blast because there are always new Moms at those and they are always so embarrassed to breast feed in public.  Z and I will show them how its done.

I still remember what I was doing 13 years ago today do you?

I was at school at Henn Tech Eden Prairie campus.  We were having shop time and my teacher came in and told us what was going on and told us to head out into the hall and check out the news on the TV.  I was in shock and all I could think of was my baby I had to get home to my baby.  K was just over a year old and my BFF Echo was babysitting him.  I just wanted to see him so if something happened more locally I would have my baby with me.  I think about it all the time still.  I still can't believe it happened.  My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone who lost loved ones on 9/11/01 we will never forget.
