So like the yarn hoarder I am I just couldn't resist picking this yarn up last time I was at Handcock Fabrics.
It is so cute lol.
I altered the pattern slightly because I couldn't find my size 9 needles so I used 8s so I followed the pattern for the adult small and added 10 rows before the decreases.
Z thinks that it is the best hat ever!!!

365 Part 2
I am continuing with the 365 quilt challenge this weekend.
I redid my double 4 patch from last week. I think that it looks a lot better now.
From 1/11 checkerboard.
1/12 Plait
1/13 Mountains
1/14 Six Strips
1/15 Triple Rail
1/16 Maggie's Mystery
1/17 Thrifty
1/18 Double 4 Patch
1/19 Half Square Triangle
1/20 Triangle Combination
I hope to be able to keep up with this 10 block a weekend thing until I catch up and only have to do 7 a weekend but as it is warming up outside it is getting harder and harder to want to stay in and sew blocks.
Here are my 20 blocks that I have so far. I still need to iron this weeks but that can wait until later.
I also picked up some more thrift store fabric to add to my collection to make quilt blocks out of.
Stay tuned for next week where I hope to make the last 11 of January so I can start February.

Organizing
We are working on finding places to store things in this house.
I made a bin for Z's bows.
We scored a loft bed for her room as well so now she has a book shelf and a small dresser to put more of her stuff in.
I also stopped into Walmart and bought some drawered bins to put most of my fabric and other miscellaneous sewing supplies in.
As you can see from the pictures I still need some more storage but I am starting to make some progress anyway.

365
So I stumbled upon this blog the other day about making one quilt block every day for a year.
It is called the 365 challenge and you can get more info here.
I am starting out behind and only really have weekends to work on it so I figure that until I catch up I will have to do 10 blocks each weekend. Here is block 1/1/16 called 3 Strips.
Block 1/2/16 is called Easy H.
Red Cross or should I call it Green Cross from 1/3/16.
Four Patch from 1/4/16.
Nine Patch from 1/5/16.
Four Strips from 1/6/16.
Two-by-Two from 1/7/16.
London Stairs from 1/8/16.
Uneven Nine Patch 1/9/16.
Double Four Patch from 1/10/16. This one I might pull apart because I am not thrilled with the pink/green/yellow thing that I have going on.
Next week I hope to accomplish this and make my next 10. If you can sew at all please join me in this challenge.

Storage
As Z gets older she seems to need more stuff in her room to keep it organized.
Like she has hair stuff all over her dresser.
So to fix the problem I made her a new bin to put her stuff in.
I used this pattern from Birch Fabrics.
I went all out and bought the 10 pack of poster board so I would have extraif when I need it again.
I only made the large size to start with.
It turned out perfect!!!
It is great for what I needed it for and it is not too complicated for a beginner.

Minions
I learned how to do some new sewing tricks today.
My pattern is McCall's EASY stitch 'n save #M9221
My pattern is McCall's EASY stitch 'n save #M9221
I attempted size T1
The new skills that I am attempting are using interfacing and...
making button holes. My sewing machine has a button hole option I just have never used it before.
The pajamas turned out awesome!!!
I am not the only one who was super excited to make these lol.
Next up is another bag or storage bins. I have stuff for many more projects but I am just not sure what I want to make.

February Beanie Bag
I got my February Beanie Bag from Jimmy Beans today!!!
I love getting a yarn Surprise every month in the mail!!!
This one had 2 patterns, some Soak, and a stitch pick up tool as the bonuses as well.
I now have 2 of these to knit up but I am not going to complain about having more yarn to play with lol.
